Crown Street Tunnel

A 2003 view west over Cavendish Cutting towards the original Liverpool terminus, Crown Street. At the far end of this cutting the approach to the former Crown Street goods through Crown Street Tunnel No 5 is to the left, the portal of the disused Wapping Street tunnel down to the docks is in the middle and original tunnel to the Crown Street terminus to the right. By 2003 the lines here were reduced to a headshunt for the remaining sidings on the south side of Edge Hill station. The electrification has since been removed.
