Pont DArdres

Heading south east from Calais in the direction of Hazebrouck, SNCF American-built 2-8-2 141R50 passes over the Ardres canal at Pont D'Ardres. The train is made up of distinctive Art Deco carriages of the style introduced in the late twenties and early thirties. These were often seen throughout the next forty years on services between France and Belgium and in the area of the France- Belgium border.
