Lock 32 seen in 1999 during works to re-open the Forth and Clyde Canal to navigation. This view looks west downhill at the lock chamber. The canal had been infilled and piped here for quite a long section between the former Cloberhill Opening Bridge (Great Western Road) and above Lock 31, about a third of a mile. To allow the canal to re-open Great Western Road Boulevard was lifted onto two new bridges, a new westward deviation from there to Lock 32 opened, and the original course Blairdardie Road was stopped up and replaced.
