Farington Junction
National Mourning Specials WCRC 86401 and a blue/grey rake of Mark 2 stock from Riveria Trains Ltd. This was the 1Z86 Lancaster to Euston (the first) additional service on 17 September 2022. While LSL provided extra services from Manchester on behalf of Avanti West Coast, it is understood that Avanti were unable to support the extra services to be provided by WCRC. In the end an arrangement was made with Network Rail to run these extra trains to support the movement of people to/from London in the days before and on the day of the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth.
