Dublin Newcomen Bridge Lock

The First Lock, Royal Canal, Dublin in 1993, looking west. Derelict at that time but since refurbished and reopened. The lock was named for Sir William Gleadowe Newcomen, secretary of the canal company. Newcomen Junction on the Midland Great Western Railway is out of shot to the right.
