Ormskirk
507024 stands in Ormskirk station around 1980, soon after its introduction. A Derby 2-car DMU, beyond the buffer stops, is ready for its journey back to Preston. This view clearly shows the Down platform building, traces of the goods yard and the old line that was left in place for several years as an emergency connection but has since been removed. The buffers in the station have since been fitted with a screen to prevent modern train headlights dazzling opposing drivers.
