Crinan Sea Lock

The view from the wheelhouse of the Clyde Puffer VIC 32 as it approaches the sea lock at Crinan after a wet day's cruising in Loch Crinan and Loch Craignish. The trainee helmsman had handed bridge duties back to the skipper and picked up his camera, not fancying his chances of completing the tricky entry to the lock unscathed. Although it appears that there are two locks, the one on the left is not in use and effectively forms part of the canal basin. It was replaced by a second, longer lock in the early 1930s which is the one in use today.
