An NBL Type 2 arrives at Cairnie Junction from the coast line with an Elgin-Aberdeen train in 1965. A quick glance at the semaphores might not have suggested that the train was being signalled to cross over to the platform track, but the train of course followed standard practice at Cairnie and did exactly that, followed by reversal into the station to collect the waiting passengers.
