The road on the right leads to Camps Reservoir from Crawford. It was built on the trackbed of the Camps Reservoir Railway. On the left, more difficult to discern, is the route of the old road replaced by the new one along the railway. The reservoir was promoted by Lanarkshire County Council, authorised in 1917 and built using German prisoners of war. The railway, 3ft gauge, was in use from 1920 to ~1927. The view is to the east.
