St. Helier, Wimbledon & Sutton line, looking back towards Wimbledon from an anti-clockwise Thameslink service from and back to to St. Albans City, on the afternoon of Saturday, 15th October 2022. This station opened on 5th January 1930, with the extension of the line from South Merton to Sutton, and is the only one on the line to have lost all its original buildings. For some years now, there has been talk of an extension of the Croydon trams system to St. Helier to serve the large hospital here but, as usual, nothing has happened.
