A Southport to Manchester Victoria service in September 2017, with 156427 and 142025, passes the site of Parbold Quarry Siding, to the right of the train. There was also a signalbox on the left towards the rear of the train. The quarry was to the right (north) uphill of the line and there were two inclines, one leading to the siding. The second crossed the bridge from where the photo was taken and terminated by the Leeds to Liverpool canal a hundred yards to the left.
