Sandhills Junction
508112 is on the Southport tracks at Sandhills Junction and slowing for the sharp curve into Bank Hall station on 7th December 2022. The tracks in the foreground are for Ormskirk and Kirkby, with Kirkdale Depot immediately behind the bridge from which this photo was taken. Still four busy tracks now, which converge at Sandhills station, but at one time this location was a maze of lines carrying express and local passenger trains and a huge variety of freight.
