Bootle Balliol Road
The site of Bootle Balliol Road station, at the mouth of Alexandra Dock Tunnel, seen in 2003 from the corner of Balliol Road and Oriel Road. The platforms continued under Balliol Rd bridge but the station closed in 1948. The Liverpool, Crosby and Southport Railway crosses over the top of this busy double track freight line to the Port of Liverpool.
