Marylebone Goods

Clayton D8616 entered service at Barrow Hill at the end of April 1965. On 30th April and 1st May in 1965 it was displayed in Marylebone Goods Yard at a BR/LAMA Exhibition where I managed to photograph it. Marylebone Goods was used for several railway exhibitions 48347. I don't think many Claytons ever went to London. The batch D8589 to D8616 were built under licence by Beyer Peacock, and although more were planned the problems with these locos meant that D8616 was the last built and Type 1 production reverted to EE locomotives. It transferred to Haymarket in 1966 but was withdrawn in 1971.
