Warth River Irwell Bridge
Just north of the Hagside level crossing at Warth, the line to Bury crosses the Irwell on what is known locally as the 'Monkey Bridge'. Metrolink 3131, a recent addition to the fleet, runs over the bridge heading for Piccadilly on 4th January 2023. Note the pedestrian tunnels on either side of the structure, which are linked by a footbridge that runs under the line on the far side.
