Birkenhead North Depot
Five Vivarail Class 230 3-car sets were acquired for Transport for Wales duties, including the Bidston to Wrexham line, and allocated to Birkenhead North Depot in 2022. With the collapse of Vivarail it remains to be seen what will happen to them. Two sets were stabled outside the depot on 1st February 2023 and visible from passing trains. This is 230006, looking ready for business and very smart in TfW red and silver, but confined to the depot with Sprinters still covering the planned duties.
