View south west over the site of the first Carluke station, also known as Stirling Road, on the Wishaw and Coltness Railway. It was nowhere near Carluke which is about two and a half miles away. Coaches interconnected with trains for those continuing their journeys to Carluke or Lanark. It was an early station, soon forgotten after the Caledonian Railway's better known Carluke station opened, which became a goods yard. The station was at the top end of the Morningside Incline.
