Glaslbremse

The Erzbergbahn was a spectacular standard gauge rack-assisted railway built to transport iron ore from the Erzberg ('Ore Mountain') in Austrian's Styrian Alps. In this 1970 photograph, Class 97 0-6-2T 97.210 approaches Glaslbremse, where the train will pause before continuing the climb to the summit at Praebichl. The train, as always, was assisted by another Class 97 at the rear.
