Astley
Astley station, between Kenyon Junction and Patricroft, closed in 1958 and was demolished. This February 2023 view shows the BR signal box installed on the site of the west bound platform 1972. It replaced one on the east side of the crossing. The gates on this surprisingly busy level crossing are user worked but supervised by the signaller and remotely locked when a train is approaching. TfW 197011 passes with a Llandudno Junction to Manchester Airport service.
