Hatton Engine

Little remains at the site of the Hatton Engine at the top of the incline except several large retaining walls in a forest. The wall has a mixture of finely dressed stone (lower) and more rough rubble above, perhaps the latter was as a result of a shortage of funds or a later addition following land slippage. The rubble portion is similar to the walls of the Newtyle terminus. Nothing remains of the engine house or engine man's house. Hatton was very briefly the terminus before the incline down to Newtyle opened.
