Reedley Colliery closed in 1960. There was a wharf on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, the remains of which are seen here, but at some point the pit was joined underground with Bank Hall Colliery and its coal could then go out that way. The Burnley to Colne line ran directly past the colliery, and over the canal on the Barden Bridge in the background, but it wasn't rail served.
