Brundall Gardens
755333 slows to call at Brundall Gardens with a Sunday morning service to Norwich on 18th June 2023. This was my first encounter with a FLIRT bi-mode unit and I had not fully realised how different they are from 'conventional' trains. Fully articulated, the diesel engines (two on a 3-car and 4 on a 4-car) are mounted in the small power-pack vehicle but it is the outer two bogies of the unit that are powered. The two engines of a 3-car set muster 1290hp (3500hp in electric mode), a far cry from the 300hp Cravens and Met-Cam DMUs that once monopolised these services.
