Summerseat
The two surviving Warships, D821 and D832, working in tandem is one of the highlights of the ELR 2023 summer diesel gala. Although they have double headed trains before on heritage lines, they are now both turned out in blue and yellow and this may be a preservation first. Here 'Greyhound' and 'Onslaught' are working one of the brake van shuttles at Summerseat heading for Bury on Day 1. Passengers holding a gala ticket can pay a supplement to ride in a brake van on a parcels train. There will be further passenger trains on Friday and Saturday hauled by the two hydraulics.
