Heysham Port
Heysham Port, and the adjacent power stations, on 3rd September 2012 with the IOMSP 'Ben-my-Chree' approaching with the daytime crossing from Douglas. The much reduced station is alongside the quay on the right where the ship will berth after turning round and backing onto the linkspan. Between the station and Heysham 1 nuclear power station are the sidings where the flask trains drop off and collect their loads. Heysham 1 was due to close in 2024 but has recently been given a two year extension. Heysham 2 will be generating into the 2030s.
