Looking south to Meigle showing the site of the Dean Water Bridge, a single span girder bridge. Beyond, the line has been partly ploughed out in recent years. Behind the camera was the larger Isla Viaduct. Off to the left is the Cardean estate. There was a large house here which lent its name to the Caledonian Railway's locomotive number 903, first of its class. Cardean House was owned by Edward Cox, a director of the Caledonian Railway and Cox Brothers Ltd, Jute Spinners and Manufacturers of Dundee.
