The Statue outside Inverness Railway station is believed to be the 1st war memorial in Inverness.

Killed at Tel-El-Kebir (16 names)
Died at Cairo (10 names)


EAST face (Eastgate side)

ATBARA
(Battle of Atbara 8th April 1898)

Killed and died of wounds (18 names)
Died of disease (10 names)

KOSHEH
(Fort Kosheh, Sudan, fighting took place in December 1885)

Plinth:
Killed up the Nile (30 names)


WEST face (Highland Rail House side)

KHARTOUM
(Battle of Omdurman, in Khartoum State on 2nd Sept 1898)

Killed and died of wounds (3 names)
Died of disease (21 names)

EGYPT

Plinth: (This gives the original purpose for the memorial)

comrades who died in Egypt
1882 - 1887.
