Rainford Junction
Northern Trains Sprinter 150127 is rear unit on the 10.20 ex Blackburn, 12.12 ex Wigan Wallgate, service seen as it runs forward passing Rainford Junction signal box, to layover beyond Rainford station before then forming the 13.00 service back to Blackburn via Todmorden and Copy Pit. Services are terminating at Rainford at present rather than Kirkby, due to a new intermediate Headbolt Lane station being built as a new interchange. Once the new station is open Merseyrail will extend their services to there, and Northern will then no longer serve Kirkby.
