Maryport in 2014. Prominent in this picture are the harbour facilities. The outer one is the Senhouse Dock, now a marina. Inland from that is the Elizabeth Dock (See 63299), joined to the tidal basin. All three of these were served by numerous railway lines on both sides. These all connected into a short branch that ran alongside the river before connecting to the main line in the direction of Carlisle. The single platform station and its surviving signal box can just be made out in the upper centre of the picture just beyond the older part of the town.
