Howsham

1Z55 the 07.52 Deltic hauled special working from Kings Cross, headed by 55009 Alycidon, has just passed over Rider Lane level crossing at Howsham, between York and Malton, on the outward journey to Scarborough on 19 August. West Coast Railways loco 47813 was on the rear for shunt release at Scarborough. The return working to the Cross was booked to leave Scarborough at 17.10. However, after delays at York, and moreso a significant one at Doncaster due to issues with the 55 that required it to be assisted thereafter, the return special skipped travelling via Lincoln, and was then terminated short at Finsbury Park station.
