UK Railtours' charter train, from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Caernarfon, now on the Welsh Highland Railway behind WHR locomotive 143, entering the first of a series of short tunnels in the Pass of Aberglaslyn, on 6th April 2019. These were hewn out of solid rock in the mountainside. Back in August 1965, as a boy on a family holiday to north Wales, we walked through these tunnels which was great fun but not as exciting as travelling through them on a narrow gauge steam train, something I would never have thought possible all those decades ago.
