Rothesay Pier

Presumably after visiting the ‘Kylemore’ berth, on the inside of the west end of the Rothesay pier, MV ‘Countess of Breadalbane’ affords her passengers a closer look at Rothesay’s promenade as she leaves. The photograph dates from 1963. The berth acquired its ‘Kylemore’ name from the steamer ‘Kylemore’, which served Rothesay for many years in the first part of the twentieth century. She carried passengers and cargo to Glasgow and back, six days a week, and the berth was her regular overnight slot.
