Leeds
A crew exchange takes place at Leeds (New) platform 12 during a short layover of the 14 July HST worked 06.06 ex Edinburgh to Plymouth Cross Country Trains service, with power cars 43239 leading and 43378 trailing. The driver facing the camera is the one taking over to Derby, see image 86903. These HST worked services ended two months later, on 18 September, under a directive from the Department for Transport, and those operated by Great Western Railway are also to end in late 2023. The lead power car 43239, along with other former XC & GW power cars and various coaches, was then moved to Great Yarmouth in mid October; for transport by road to the docks for loading into a bulk freighter for export to Nigeria. 43378, plus coaches and another power car, joined them at the end of the month, but this power car is expected to be in the second batch being exported to Mexico.
