Carstairs
Carstairs station looking south from the road overbridge in 1972. The former locomotive shed is on the left, by then used for stock storage by the looks of it, with Carstairs No. 3 signal box visible at the platform end. The station footbridge used to extend over the up tracks to allow access to the shed, which I found to be a very useful asset in steam days.
