The Gairney Viaduct in a view looking west. The National Grid clearly had similar thoughts about this being a good route for pylons. Indeed, there is also a large pipe along the viaduct today. The railway ran over the bridge and then gently curved, disappearing in this view in the distant right of centre in the trees,
