Featherstone
View from 158815 from Leeds to Knottingley arriving at Featherstone, which has staggered platforms either side of a level crossing, on the afternoon of Wednesday, 20th September 2023. The original station on the Wakefield Kirkgate to Pontefract Monkhill line was opened on 1st April 1848 but closed on 2nd January 1967 when the line fell foul of the Beeching cuts but stayed open for freight and passenger diversions. A new station was provided here when the line fully reopened to passengers on 12th May 1992.
