Reykjavik Harbour

The locomotive 'Miner'

The locomotive was built in Kirchen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany in 1892. She is 4.9 m long with a height of 3.0 m and a track width of 90 cm. Fully loaded, she weighs 15 tons. The Miner locomotive arrived in Iceland on March 9, 1913 together with other items for the harbour construction and was the first locomotive in Iceland, used for harbour construction until 1928.
