Lavington signal box from a passing train. During the early 1970s it was open on nights to shorten the sections for the aggregate trains from Merehead and Whatley. And it enjoyed an Indian Summer as it was open continuously during the final two years or so of its life, as the resignalling was making its way west - culminating in closure and demolition in January 1979.
