156427 forms 2J28, 15:18 Blackburn to Rochdale service, on 17th August 2023. Behind the train the platform of the former Turton and Edgworth station can still be seen over 52 years after it closed in 1961. The line is single from around Darwen to Bromley Cross but is still able to support two trains per hour in each direction. Much of this section is now a green tunnel with very limited photographic opportunities.
