Arkleston Junction

This is the first in a series of photos of events in 1966 which show part of the change from 4 lines to 2 lines on the Paisley to Glasgow main line.

Reconstruction of Arkleston Junction is under way on 1 May 1966, with the removal of the down slow line. Clayton D8539 is standing on the down fast line in the midst of all the activity. View is westbound towards Paisley Gilmour Street.
