It was not common for A4 Pacifics to require assistance, but this was a special occasion on 25 March 1967 when 60009 'Union of South Africa' was faced with the task of hauling the Scottish Region's 'Grand Tour Number 1', an eighteen coach mammoth, to Aberdeen. The answer was of course one of Perth shed's Black 5s (44997), whose tender is in the photo as the pair prepare to leave Perth station.
