Bott Lane Halt was one of three rail-level stopping places opened by the L&YR between Burnley and Colne to stave off tramway competition. There was a small shelter and sleeper surface and the railmotors, and their later push-pull replacements, were accessed by drop-down steps. Bott Lane opened in 1906 and closed in 1956, just before the introduction of DMUs, which could not service rail level halts. 156406 passes the site on a wet 22nd November 2023. Ironically, a large high school and Pendle College have been built nearby since closure and would provide good numbers of users for a station here now.
