The Stainland and Holywell Green branch was only 1.6 miles long, but was double track and had two intermediate stations between Greetland and the terminus. Railmotor services ceased in 1929, the same year as the nearby Rishworth branch. The station at West Vale 49795 has been built over but this nearby viaduct of the same name still strides proudly across the valley. The last goods train crossed it in 1959.
