Chirk Aqueduct
Immediately to the north of the Chirk Aqueduct, on the former Ellesmere Canal, Chirk Tunnel takes the canal under the railway and emerges near Chirk station. Unusually, the tunnel also has the towpath inside rather than diverting it over the hill as is usually the case. This is the southern portal in September 2019.
