Hardengreen Viaduct: A northbound service on the Borders Railway slows for its next scheduled stop at Eskbank shortly after clearing Hardengreen Viaduct on an overcast 3 September 2020. The train is the 0828 Tweedbank - Edinburgh Waverley, formed by ScotRail DMU 170418.

Montrose: The rear of the large, now demolished, goods shed at Montrose station. The passenger station is straight ahead.

Barcaldine Halt: Extract from the Scottish Region timetable winter 1960-61 showing the Glasgow to Oban line and branches. There is usually something inexplicable in timetables of this period; in this case one wonders why Barcaldine (note Q) cannot just have its own entry so you know what time the trains call; it sees every train after all.

Dundee: Power car 43144 sits at platform 3 in Dundee, at the head of the 12.16 to Glasgow Queen Street, on 18th September 2020.

Leith Central: The former Leith Central station, closed to passengers in 1952. It later served as a diesel unit depot but is now abandoned, seen here on 21st May 2018.

Milnthorpe: On a surprisingly warm and sunny 27th September 2020, 195122 heads north at Elmsfield with a service from Preston for Windermere. At Oxenholme it had to wait in the down loop for the train from Windermere to clear the single track branch, and then made three round trips before heading south again for Manchester Airport.

Moss Lane Junction: 150136 drops down from Moss Lane Junction, where the direct line to Lostock Hall diverged, towards the WCML at Farington Curve Junction with the 1201 hrs Ormskirk to Preston service on 20th August 2020.

Armadale: A mid-morning service for Helensburgh Central calls at Armadale in the spring of 2011, formed by a class 334 EMU 6-car combination in SPT livery. Ongoing construction work was still very much in evidence around the new station and car park, whose delayed opening had taken place four days earlier.

Cockenzie Harbour: In the absence of the planned audience, National Transport Trust vice-president John Cameron unveiled the Red Wheel at Cockenzie on 21 September 2020. He is seen here with '1722 Waggonway Heritage Group' chair Ed Bethune in front of the new plaque and a replica wagon.

Winchcombe: Despite the lack of visual effects, 7820 'Dinmore Manor' was working hard climbing the gradient at Winchcombe on 19th September 2020 and there was plenty of 'chimney music' at the lineside.
