This mansion stood at the confluence of the Rivers Clyde and Cart, on the south bank of the Cart and east bank of the Cart. The building does not survive but the grounds now form the Renfrew Golf Club course.
The borrowed name 'Blythswood' memorialised the lands on which much of western Glasgow was built; the land west of Buchanan Street encompassing Blythswood Hill and Blythswood Square. Blythswood House was built on the Ranfield estate.
