Description

This location was approximately half way along the Lochaber Narrow Gauge Railway. It was known as Central or, sarcastically, 'Charing Cross'. There was a triangle of lines, for turning engines, a shed and Central Loop to the west.

During the construction period of the railway, pipeline and aluminium works, there was quite a large camp here, with sleeping cabins, a hospital, canteen and stores.

Bridge 16 was to the west and Bridge 15 to the east.

After closure in 1977, lines survived here, part buried.
