Bridge

Name and dates

Clava Bridge (1890-1898)

, Scotland

Description

This bridge carried the temporary way which was laid from Leanach Quarry to the Culloden Viaduct, with which it should not be confused. It is a single span girder bridge with dressed stone parapets.

The original road bridge was a little to the east and on an oblique to the river.

The temporary way ran at right angles to the river, part of the route being from north of the bridge southeast past Clava Lodge to the railway.
