Opened on the Morayshire Railway. This was a single platform station with a large timber building. It was, briefly, the terminus of the line until it was extended south over the River Spey by the Craigellachie Bridge to Strathspey Junction. The station was to be renamed Dandaleith in 1864, with Strathspey Junction becoming Craigellachie [2nd].
There was a small goods yard to the north of the station, on the west side of the line and approached from the north.
The strong retaining wall, which held up the embankment the line and station stood on, still remains. Some of the station site has been absorbed into the parallel road.
