Denhead

Location type

Station

Name and dates

Denhead (1900-1929)

Opened on the Carmyllie Railway.

Description

This was a single platform station to the north of a level crossing. The platform was on the north/east side of the line.

There was a siding, approached from the north. This siding existed before the station and was lengthened and relaid from a position slightly further north after its opening. The siding was on the west side.

Denhead Farm was just to the south on the B9127.

Nothing remains of the station and the trackbed has largely been ploughed out going south. A suggestion of the site and the siding can still be seen in the shape of an area used by a farm for storage.
