The original single track timber viaduct was replaced with a girder bridge in 1886. The replacement was built to allow a second track and the line was doubled in 1894.
The famous railway photographer Derek Cross took his first railway photograph here.
The girders were removed shortly after closure.
The original bridge was perhaps slightly downstream of the second.
Also known as Barsoles Viaduct, but officially Urr Viaduct.
